Linux SME (Job Number:435658)

Description:

The primary role of this position will be to serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Linux on the CND (Computer Network Defense) project.

-Work primarily on RHEL 6.x servers

-Work with several vendor proprietary Linux/Unix based operating systems to:

Change/modify configuration files

Perform packet capture analysis

Restart services

Add/remove user accounts

Configure centralized authentication

Review log files

Harden Linux systems in accordance to DISA STIG

Mitigate system vulnerabilities based on Nessus scan results

Apply and test patches then release to production sites

Assist customer sites with any Linux related issues

Work with BIND DNS

Work with SPLUNK

Work with Juniper Network and Security Manager (NSM)

Work with DISA ACAS (Tenable Nessus)

Travel:

• Light travel is required for this position.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and a minimum of 2 years of IT experience.

• *Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.

-Must be 8570 IAT Level II or higher certified or able to complete within 6 months from date of hire

Clearance Requirements: Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance and have eligibility for a Top Secret Clearance.

Desired Certifications:

Security+, CASP, CISSP, Linux+, RHCSA, RHCE, CEH, CCENT, CCNA, JNCIA
