SMG Assistant Changeover Manager in North Charleston, South Carolina

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

This position assists in supervising and performs a multitude of physical tasks in setting-up and breaking down of the North Charleston Coliseum, Convention and Performing Arts Centers (the Facilities), as needed. This position also performs some administrative tasks including scheduling, training, and annual performance reviews in assisting the Changeover Manager.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Works with Changeover Manager and staff to set-up and break down events (i.e., stage, risers, basketball floor, hockey system, chairs and tables, lobby area, dressing rooms, Club rooms, etc.).

Survey equipment before and after events for damage or disrepair and report, as necessary.

Assist with maintenance of equipment.

Develop and implement policies and procedures for Changeover crews with Changeover Manager.

Provide labor recaps for scheduled work.

Distribute changeover supplies, uniforms and equipment.

Hiring, scheduling, and training of part-time staff.

Fully understand Facilities layout to maximize usage (i.e., storage, cleaning methods, etc.).

Represent the Changeover Manager in his absence.

Assist staff as needed in all areas of Operations, performing other tasks as assigned.

Assist in preparation of, and operation in, annual budget

Assist with purchasing. Complete, log and track purchase orders.

Order, maintain inventory, of changeover supplies, tools and equipment.

Coordinate daily schedules with event staff concerning future event.

Prepare annual performance reviews of part time staff

Document disciplinary procedures when necessary, verbal, written, and final. Track Violations in attendance policy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated knowledge of basic tools and methods to erect and dismantle various items including chairs, risers and stages; ability to perform various physical tasks; knowledge of purchasing practices; knowledge of supervisory principles with an emphasis in working with and training part-time staff. Previous changeover experience in a similar facility preferred. Reasonable accommodations will be considered for those with disabilities.
