Sales territory includes: North GA, SC, NC

  • Sales rep preferably lives in: Charlotte, Charleston, Greenville, Ashville, Raleigh

  • Responsible for managing and growing all Cepheid business in non-acute (non-hospital) healthcare markets and for coordinating all associated company activity within an assigned geography for both existing and prospective accounts including, but not limited to, regional and local reference laboratories, large multi-specialty clinics, women's clinics, other physician office laboratories, college and university student health centers, long term care facilities, STD clinics, urgent care/walk-in clinics, jails and prisons, public health, and free standing emergency departments.

  • Cultivate strong working relationships within all distribution channels to promote and sell Cepheid's Value Proposition.

  • Manage without authority within distributor sales teams to encourage the promotion of Cepheid instruments and testing applications.

  • Work with distribution channels to deliver presentations and proposals.

  • Host and assist with distribution sales meetings and related trade shows.

  • Manage customer data in the company CRM.

  • Achieve instrument and reagent sales goals.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 4 years related capital sales experience in non-acute diagnostics through distribution channels.

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Must have existing contacts and experience with Cepheid's Distribution Partners.

  • Strong track record of sales success, specifically in selling premium-priced products.

  • Expertise with demand creation (versus replacement technology) is a plus.

  • Outstanding presentation skills.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills.

  • Ability to travel 75% of the time.

An essential function of this position is the ability to pass vendor credentialing requirements imposed by assigned customers, which can include, by way of example only, periodic background checks and drug screening, immunizations, and training, and may vary by customer and change from time-to-time. The Company pays the cost for any such vendor credentialing requirements.
