Saint-Gobain Maintenance Technician II in Charleston, South Carolina

Desired candidate must demonstrate core skills, which include understanding company safety policies and housekeeping. Follow verbal and written instructions and have knowledge of product line and manufacturing standards. The normal operating duties are listed below are not intended to be inclusive and may change depending on unforeseen circumstances or are assigned by supervision for success of the operation.

Understand and follow proper LOTO procedures. Use proper LOTO Try Out when working on equipment outside of the normal routine.

Must have the ability to replace chains, all types of belts and valves used in the plant.

Must have the ability to identify and replace bearings, sprockets, bushings gearboxes, including lubrication requirements.

Must be able to perform preventive maintenance plus lubrication on the production lines and support equipment as required, independent of other mechanics.

Demonstrate ability to utilize math in fraction and decimals.

Demonstrate knowledge of metric measuring systems.

Demonstrate ability to proficiently operate powered hand tools.

Demonstrate the ability to replace chains and belts.

Perform the minimum requirements for maintenance safety initiatives.

Able to work independent or with a team.

Must be able to work 8 to 12 hours on his/her feet, lift 50 lbs. on a repeated basis over a normal workday, and climb ladders safely.

Licensed to drive a forklift, also preferred knowledge to operate scissor lift, man lift and bobcat.

Maintain 5S of work area and equipment.

High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of 1 year of experience. Ability to maintain accurate records & troubleshoot process. Basic operating knowledge and understanding of computer systems. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
