The Building People Electrician II in Charleston, South Carolina
Currently, The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Electrician II. The Electrician will perform a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Work includes the following: installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment; working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. In general, the work of the maintenance electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
A minimum of a high school diploma (HSD) or equivalent is required for this position.
Listed below are required and preferred qualifications for this position.
Five (5) years experience performing electrical maintenance and repair of electrical systems and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge of electrical work.
Applicants should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Answer after-hours emergency calls and be available to work overtime as needed
Must be able to manage work load on a daily basis with little supervision
Must be able to handle multiple projects, changing priorities and managing heavy work loads
Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain one, preferred but not required.
Federal Government experience a plus.
Physical Requirements of this position include:
Ability to repeatedly lift and carry objects of up to 50 lbs
Ability to climb and work from ladders
Stooping, standing, climbing and frequently lifting equipment (pump, tools, ladders) with a minimum of 50 lbs
