Randstad is seeking and Accounts Payable Clerk for a temp-to-permanent opening in Charleston. The position will start out as an AP Clerk working from 8am-5pm, three days a week. If the candidate selected is successful in the role, there is opportunity for the position to go full time with administrative duties and a salary increase. The current part time role will pay $12 an hour.

Typical Duties:

*Work a primarily twenty-five (25) hour work-week as coordinated and scheduled with the CFO

*Review vendor invoices for accuracy, match the invoice with the respective department's purchase order, determine appropriate accounts to charge expenses, resolve invoice or payment discrepancies

*Insure credit is received for outstanding memo, and make any necessary adjustments prior to check preparation

*Audit and process credit card bills and reconcile transactions against source documents

*Verify tax identification numbers and calculate line item charges, discounts, freight charges and taxes due.

*Update/maintain vendor database; complete new vendor credit applications

*Respond to all vendor inquiries and promptly notify direct report of any urgent matters for resolution

*Maintain accounts payable filing system and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices

*Prepare and distribute department head expense reports monthly (or as requested)

*Special projects as assigned

Working hours: 8am-5pm, 3 days a week

Skills:

Minimum Requirements:

*Must be able to work from 8am-5pm three days a week and potentially move into a full time schedule

*Associate degree in Accounting or Finance and/or 3 years experience in Accounts Payables

*Extremely organized, detail oriented, accurate and thorough in keeping records

*Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks based on importance and multitask in a fast paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

*Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner

*Ability to process and follow-up on rush items and meet deadlines

*Ability to effectively present and communicate information verbally and in writing

*Excellent oral and written communication skills

*Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner

*Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and accurately

*To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong technological skills in accounting software, spreadsheets and word processing software.

*Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative with an eye toward improving efficiency of current system and better utilizing software

*Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel), Google Drive services (Docs and Sheets)

*Proficient in Sage/DacEasy a plus

*Familiar with government accounting practices preferred
