City of Charleston Accounting Manager in Charleston, South Carolina
Provides management and support for systems and accounting activities for the court by performing the following duties. Establishes current and long-range objectives, plans, and policies, subject to approval by City Council, Legal, and Director of Courts. Creates a technical vision for the court and plans for implementation of new technical projects. Analyzes new technologies and runs analyses. Works with Judiciary, Director of Courts, Court Operations Manager, and court staff to determine applicability of new technologies. Plans, directs, and organizes the day-to-day activities of the Accounting division in the Court. Reviews operating results of the Court, compares them to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results. Creates technical budgets, allocates resources, and determines project deadlines. Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the organization. Responsible for the training of users on basic and advanced features of computer systems. Provides support for the collection of delinquent fines and fees. Responsible for the accounting and banking operations of the court. Performs and assists in the coordination of court collection activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Requires: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in accounting, information technology, business administration or related field; and two - four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid state issued driver’s license. NCIC and TAC certification preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a thorough knowledge of Crystal Reports, Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel and Word or similar software. Knowledge of One Solution financial software and JEMS or CMS case management software helpful.
